THIS ILLEGITIMATE PRESIDENT PART 7: POOR LEADERSHIP WITH PUERTO RICO

It has been two weeks since Hurricane Maria touchdown in Puerto Rico. The island continues to be ravaged with limited basic necessities food, water, and power; even with the supplies Puerto Rico is receiving, it is not enough to help the 3.4 million citizens who are in dire need. In addition, according to various news outlets, the island will be without power for 3-4 months and with the uncertainty of what is taken place now, there is not a clear sign of when the citizens of Puerto Rico will make it out of this devastation. However, the most upsetting cause with Puerto Rico is the lackluster and failed leadership of Donald Trump-sidebar: what do you expect? America has a lackluster leader with no leadership skills to handle natural disasters.

“Sidebar: what do you expect? America has a lackluster leader with no leadership to skills to handle natural disasters.”

Recap: while the people of Puerto Rico have been suffering and going without the basic necessities, food, water and power, Donald Trump has been tweeting about NFL players protesting the flag and the national anthem. For four days Donald Trump tweeted about NFL players kneeling because they are protesting the racial injustice in America that black people endure. Instead of focusing on protests by NFL players, Donald Trump needs to focus on Puerto Rico a U.S. territory, which means the same Bill of Rights and Constitution are applicable to Puerto Ricans and they deserve the same level of response and assistance like Texas or any other state. Furthermore, mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz should not be in a position to ask and plead for assistance from the “greatest country” when it is their duty is to provide rescue assistance to Puerto Rico.

This decorum of Donald Trump should not be shocking because he is not a leader and is not capable of handling any real issues. Nevertheless, Donald Trump needs to do his job which is aiding people in the time of need. Due to his poor response, celebrities like Marc Anthony sent Donald Trump an unpleasant tweet to get his attention. The suffering of Puerto Ricans should not all be taken place. Mayor Carmin Yulin Cruz of San Juan, the island most populist city is one person doing the best she can to aid her citizens and try to be resourceful. To insult the mayor and say she has “poor leadership” is not something Donald Trump has the right to say given his response to Puerto Rico.

Thus far, it has been chaos and more chaos with Donald Trump in the oval office. His response to the devastation of Puerto Rico illustrate his inability to be a leader and his lack of compassion for other human beings. Not only that, his failed response to Puerto Rico is demonstrating to the world that the U.S. is not capable of handling big issues when they strike and this does not put the U.S. in a good place. Donald Trump is a poor leader with no skills on how to govern or be diplomatic, and it is shameful that he is even President.
