America is made up of immigrants, always have been and will continue to be. Immigrants are the bread and butter of America, they built this nation leaving a legacy of greatness for future generations to continue to build and make America a beacon of the world.
A reason immigrants move to this great nation is to provide a better life for themselves and family which they do. However, the harsh side of immigration is rejection, not being allowed to take part in what makes America great.
Maria Del Rosario Palacios:

Recap: Maria Del Rosario Palacios has been a Legal Permanent Resident in Georgia since 2009 and has resided in Gainesville, Georgia since 1994. Ms. Palacios works, completed college and raises her 3 children in the state she has called home for all of her life. The Superior Court of Georgia denied Maria the right to run for office upholding Secretary of State and candidate Brian Kemp reasoning to remove her off the ballot. According to the petition filed, Georgia has no clear definition of what it means to be a citizen of the state.

Maria living in Georgia for nearly all her life, working, paying taxes, raising her 3 children is a citizen who meets the 2-year requirement. Sidebar: Brian Kemp is the guy who purposely did not process 40,000 voter registration applications in the 2014 midterms, denied an African-American man from running for office in the same year, although he lived in the district for 28 years and voted in the previous 2 elections.

Brian Kemp and the Superior court ruling to not allow Maria on the ballot is a clear pattern of finding an illegitimate reason through the courts to deny Maria the right to run for office.
Changes Not on the GOP Side:

For the past 3-5 years communities have changed but the representation has not, and this is an issue that is becoming prevalent in our politics.
Denying Maria the right to run for office allows the trend of communities to not have the representation they need at the local, state or national level.
Changes Not On The GOP Side Pt2:
The Republican incumbent, Matt Dubnik, will run unopposed in this election allowing him to represent District 29, where he will not meet the interests of the people. Many counties similar to Hall, are having more contested races where for far too long many GOP candidates ran unopposed.
Not allowing Maria to run for office in Hall County-Gainesville, GA is a clear example of Brian Kemp and the GOP trying to hold on to their local power in counties similar to Hall and in the state of Georgia.
