The Gloves Are Off:
Americans witnessed for 2 nights in a row, all 24 Democratic contenders sparring on the debate stage attacking common sense policies from Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren to attacking former Vice President Joe Biden in debate number 2. However, the usual candidates who are in the top rankings stood out whereas the others really should consider running for Senate. Although there are only six top tier candidates for 2020, there were some moments in both debates where the lower-tiered candidates shine, an example is Rep Tulsi Gabbard attacking Sen Kamala Harris on her record as Attorney General in California, and every candidate attempting to attack Senators Sanders and Warren, but was unsuccessful. Sidebar: both Rep Tulsi Gabbard and Sen Kamala Harris are not top-tiered candidates, however, it was great seeing two women of color in a presidential debate dialoguing over criminal justice policy.

Both nights of the Democratic debates illustrated there is a long way to go in tackling the important issues voters would like more in-depth plans from the centrist candidates. Additionally, both nights of the debate illustrated the progressive platform will be center of the 2020 elections, and the candidates with best common-sense solutions are the candidate voters will choose.
It’s All About Policy:
What stands out about the 2020 Presidential elections and Elizabeth Warren being early in the process with here policy plans discussing almost every area concerning the nation. Not only is Senator Warren the first, but this also has never been done and it’s exciting there is a candidate with common-sense policy proposals which is necessary for our nation. Senator Warren policy proposals from student debt to the school to prison pipeline are widespread concerns facing our nation and these concerns created by elected officials who focus on their interest and not that of the people. The policy will be a major factor in the 2020 election because this is what voters are looking for and have been for a long time. Clear, concise policies Senator and Candidate Warren has produced has set the tone for the election because the other 23 candidates are beginning to mimic Senator Warren policies which fail to resonate with voters. Additionally, having policies illustrates a clear direction the candidates would like to lead the nation if their elected President. Having policy solutions to the widespread concerns facing our nation and voters tired of debating is necessary for the current political climate.
To Repeat History or Not to Repeating History in 2020:
In previous blogs, I’ve stated FDR, Theodore Roosevelt and Henry Wallace who were robbed of making our nation better held the same ideas and policy solutions to better our nation. Not only that, the 2016 election is an example of repeating history where great candidates Sen Sanders was robbed from making our nation better. America is behind on the common sense basic human issues beneficial to the people, therefore we the people are in a moment to repeat or not to repeat history in 2020.
