On October 2, 2017, American’s woke up to news of another domestic terrorist attack-a mass shooting in Las Vegas. Stephen Paddock the domestic terrorist killed 59 people and injured 500 more who were enjoying a country music concert. Domestic terrorism is far more of a threat in America than the Muslim terrorist which the U.S. wants you to believe. With the constant act of domestic terrorism, our elected officials and Department of Homeland Security should monitor deranged white men who murder innocent people and leave innocent people with life threatening injuries. In addition, it is astonishing how the NRA is trying to correlate gun violence with mental illness when history will show that mental illness never had a role in any of the domestic terrorists attack in America.

According to VOX, “America has one mass shooting a day.” For the greatest country to have one mass shooting a day is unacceptable. Having one mass shooting a day illustrates that domestic terrorism and the NRA are the real threats to this country. Moreover, one mass shooting a day is another illustration of how America has become immune to killing. America having one mass shooting a day is a terrible sign that we as people and our elected officials have failed by not fixing this issue. Over and over again, we the people and our beloved country are in danger by domestic terrorists who our government fails to label as terrorists and fail to pass laws against these domestic terrorists. We the people do not want to witness another deadliest domestic terrorist attack.

Recap: in the wake of the San Bernardino incident in 2015, Congress moved swiftly to pass laws on the Muslim terrorist. Additionally, the GOP always discuss their duty is to protect our country and the American people, yet they fail to do so by working with the NRA. Those words ring hollow when the GOP is failing to protect our country and the American people by allowing those who look like them to constantly be a threat to our country. If the GOP can swiftly attack and condemn Muslim terrorists, then they should do the same for the white domestic terrorist in America. Not only that, their callous decorum after every domestic terrorist attack demonstrates the GOP does not care to protect our country or we the people.

Furthermore, this is another argument the GOP has lost because they have failed their duty in doing what is right for the people. No longer can the GOP use the rhetoric of protecting America and the American people when they fail to work on the issue of domestic terrorism.
