THIS ILLEGITIMATE PRESIDENT PART 10: Canada and China VS Trump

Intro to Trade War:

Donald Trump announces a tariff increase on Canadian imports sparking a trade war. Additionally, Trump increased the already trade war with China to $200 billion on their imports. Canada retaliated increasing their tariffs on America’s imports dollar for dollar and taking it to the World Trade Organization due to the violation in NAFTA chapter 20. In a recent press conference, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, stated “at some point common sense has to prevail.” Common sense has not prevailed and what will come of this tariff war are higher prices for American’s who live on stagnant wages and cannot afford the basic necessities of life.

Aside from the tariff war with Canada, Donald Trump creates a tariff war with China increasing tariffs by 25%. Not only is this an awful trade decision, it’s a poor deal for American’s and Canadians.

“Common sense has not prevailed, what will come of this tariff war are higher prices for American’s who live on stagnant wages and cannot afford to give the basic necessities of life.”

30 Years of Stagnation:

For 30 years, America wages have remained stagnant with many families falling into poverty. For 30 years without a wage increase, the cost of living has increased, in addition to goods, the trade war will hurt American’s and cost America in the long run. Sidebar: American’s paying more for products means they will have to financially adjust what goods to buy, a problem many low-income families already are a facing. Moreover, the cost of paying higher prices for goods is not making America great again.

More importantly, the trade war has further damaged relationships with Canada and China and it will take decades to repair.

“Trade wars are a disaster for the people because they are the ones who have to make financial decisions in their day-to-day lives.”

Welp, Trump Voters Will be Hit Hardest:

Trump voters are in many of the rural states where agricultural is a big part of their economy. The Midwest part of the nation where Trump voters live, where steel and aluminum are produced, are where the tariffs increase from China and Canada will hit the hardest. Both China and Canada retaliation to the trade war is specifically targeting states where Trump voters live. Sidebar: guessing, Trump voters did not see this coming. In addition, to the specific targeted tariffs, Harley-Davidson announces they will close a few facilities and move their manufacturing overseas. Sidebar: I guess Donald Trump did not see this coming.

“Sidebar: Harley-Davidson is manufactured in Wisconsin, where Gov. Scott Walker and Speaker Paul Ryan have dismantled worker rights, unions and refuses to increase the minimum wage.”

In addition, to the specific targeted tariffs, Harley-Davidson announces they will close a few facilities and move their manufacturing overseas. Harley-Davidson announcement is not a surprise to the business world, but it’s to Donald Trump because he does not understand trade policies. However, Harley-Davidson is the first of many U.S. manufacture companies to announce moving their productions overseas.
