The major event, that will be talked about today and throughout the weekend is the meeting of the America’s in Panama where President Obama is to meet with Raul Castro. In January during the President State of the Union address, Obama stated since the embargo imposed on Cuba 55 years ago under then President JFK, it is time for a different approach; opening up and normalizing relationship with Cuba is the different approach. As a political scientist, this is a momentous event in Foreign Policy and International Relations, because this illustrates that President Obama foreign policy and using a diplomatic approach is essential in governing. However, the down side is the GOP nut jobs who heads will explode over this meeting, and will come up with the most idiotic things to say without any factual basis.
