TYT CENK UYGUR INTERVIEW WITH DR. JANE SANDERS
TYT Cenk Uygur interviewed Dr. Jane Sanders, the wife of Sen. Bernie Sanders, and the interview was an eye opener. Throughout the interview Dr. Jane Sanders discussed about how the media inaccurately portrays the Sanders campaign and his message in addition to the Clinton campaign and how she misrepresents what Bernie Sanders says. When asked about the media, this was a great statement that Dr. Jane Sanders made, “the press is very much groupthink, the mainstream media reports he say she say and the media does not seem to be worried about the truth, the narrative is already written”. There is no doubt that the media for a long time has been subjective, biased, and highly inaccurate. The media reports what the next station says without any hard evidence or investigation, a reason why many Americans do not trust the media and does not take the media seriously.
“The press is very much groupthink, the mainstream media reports he say she say and the media does not seem to be worried about the truth, the narrative is already written”.
Throughout the campaign, the media has downplayed everything Bernie Sanders says and do such as the massive rallies that he holds. What Sen. Bernie Sanders is doing or saying matters, it matters because he is reaching millions of people who lives are affected by the issues, and he is reaching a voting base the Democratic party needs. However, it is interesting that the Clinton campaign is using what Bernie Sanders is saying, stating that they are on the same page when Clinton is part of the groupthink in the establishment and in the media. Discounting the states that Sen. Bernie Sanders has won, saying they are “irrelevant or they are weird”, is an example of how the media along with establishment are fighting hard to not allow Sen. Bernie Sanders in. Moreover, this past week Bernie Sanders won the state of Wyoming by 12% and only received 7 delegates to Hillary Clinton 11 delegates and she lost in Wyoming another example of how the establishment does not want Sen. Sanders in. Additionally, this illustrates how they are desperately trying to shove Hillary Clinton on to people, by having her on every media outlet and talk shows compared to Bernie Sanders, note that when Martin O’Malley was campaigning, the media and the establishment completely ignored him.
“We tend to not see people through the prism of race, they are people, we want to address all the issues of the different people and the different ethnic background”
Additionally, when asked about the white votes and the votes of the different ethnic backgrounds on who decides the next president, Dr. Jane Sanders stated “we tend to not see people through the prism of race, they are people, we want to address all the issues of the different people and the different ethnic background” note (ethnic background is the correct terminology and not race). Addressing the issues of all the people and their different ethnic backgrounds is what Sen. Bernie Sanders has done throughout his career, when it comes to elections and reaching out to voters, he is reaching everyone because his message is resonating with the different ethnic backgrounds.
In addition, no longer does one ethnic background decides who should be our next president, in 2008 for Hillary Clinton to say that President Obama could not win the white vote, that’s why he should not be in the general election, is similar to what she and the media are currently saying about Sen. Bernie Sanders, discounting the states that he has won with the white votes. This interview with Dr. Jane Sanders is a great interview, what was stated about the media, the campaigns both Sen. Sanders and Sec. Clinton helped define who and what Sen. Bernie Sanders stands for compared to Sec. Clinton. To see what more of what Dr. Jane Sanders had to say here’s the link to the interview.
