In January of this year 13 states have raised the minimum wage, and based on recent reports they have seen job growth at a faster rate then the states that have not raised the minimum wage. The arguments from the right about raising the minimum wage stagnant job growth or cutting approximately 500,000, based on reports by the CBO (congressional budget office) has not been proven thus far. More importantly, it is a disgrace that the top nation is at the bottom of the list when it comes employees wages. For more information read or watch the news report from The Young Turks, and here is a link to a recent interview on GPB/PBS between a NYU professor who believes that the minimum wage should not be raised and that the stagnation of wages for the past 30years should continue. Also, in the interview is a venture capitalists who believes that the minimum wage should be raised, and that the loopholes in the tax system for the wealthy receiving should be fixed.
