In the greatest country, there is nothing more that divides and bring chaos to our nation than racism. Racism is the driving force which continues to separate we the people, continues to keep a negative ideology alive and continues to spread hate. Over the course of the week, we have witnessed an upheaval of division in our nation and the unfortunate aspect of this is Donald Trump-who is the president continues to push the division. Donald Trump’s remarks on siding with Neo-Nazis a few weeks ago when they marched in Virginia and his constant tweeting of the stance NFL players and NBA players taken by not showing up to the White House further divides our nation. There is saying-when someone shows you their true colors believe them, only nine months into Donald Trump presidency, we the people are fully witnessing the true colors of Donald Trump.
“There is saying-when someone shows you their true colors believe them, only nine months into Donald Trump presidency, we the people are fully witnessing the true colors of Donald Trump.”
Early in September Donald Trump sided with white supremacists who marched in Virginia with tiki torches. Over the past week, he called for Jemele Hill to be fired because of her remarks-“Donald Trump is a racist and a bigot”. In addition, his reply to Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors on not attending the White House and his remarks on Friday at a racists rally in Alabama “wouldn’t you like to see the NFL owners get these sons of bitches of the field”-referring to Colin Kaepernick who has begun a movement to kneeling when the anthem plays, Donald Trump is promoting hatred and racism in our nation. Side Bar: Early in 2017 Dr. Robert Reich stated we are dealing with a man who has an emotional intelligence of a 4-year-old. He is right. What leader or head of state tweets and supports hatred?
“Wouldn’t like to see the NFL owners get these sons of bitches of the field-Donald Trump.”
The remarks Donald Trump made on Friday evening referring to Colin Kaepernick as a son of a bitch is out of line for a president. Furthermore, if Donald Trump understood the racial injustice, inequality and the history of blacks being treated as second-class citizens in the greatest country he would not have made that statement. Recap: American history shows us when blacks waved the flag, pledge allegiance to the flag and in some cases recited the national anthem white supremacists did not want African-Americans to do any of those things. So why is he pissed that black athletes are not supporting a flag that has a negative meaning for African-Americans? In an article by the Intercept last August, the history of the American flag is about the killing of slaves. Side Bar: Notice how everything like the flag and the national anthem which is supposed to be positive have a negative history behind it?
“Side Bar: Notice how everything like the flag and the national anthem that is supposed to be positive have a negative history behind it?”
During the 2016 election cycle, Donald Trump stated Mexicans are rapists and drug dealers. In January, he signed executive orders banning Muslims from entering the U.S., recently rescinded DACA, pardons Joe Arpaio and is constantly rolling back policies that protect people of color implemented by President Obama. Donald Trump actions show he is not for we the people-he is only for his people.
