TJX FOLLOWS WAL-MART IN RAISING THE MINIMUM WAGE FOR THEIR WORKERS
Last week, news broke out that Wal-Mart will be raising their minimum wage to $10 an hour. This week TJX, the parent store to Marshalls and Home Goods will also raise their minimum wage to $10 an hour for their workers in June of this year. It has been 2 years since workers from fast food restaurants went on strike demanding an increase in the minimum wage and since President Obama pushed for the minimum wage to be increased by asking Congress to pass legislation for an increase. So far, Congress has done NOTHING on this issue; the GOP for the past 6 years campaigned on “doing what’s right for the people”, and since winning the elections in 2014 the GOP stated they can show the people that they can govern, which they have failed miserably at doing. It seems that businesses and states are taken matters into their own hands by raising the minimum wage without the help of Congress, and the people whom elected these GOPPERS into office, really need to pay attention at what they are doing because it reflects nothing that is beneficial to the people.
